Peace Furusa started her teaching career in Zimbabwe in 1976. Prior to leaving Zimbabwe in early 2001 she was a lecturer in a teacher’s college training students in both the theory and practice of teaching of physical education. On arriving in the UK Peace taught in various schools at KS1-KS4 level, obtained a Diploma in Sports Psychology in 2003 and joined St Piers in 2004. Peace obtained qualified teacher status with the General Teaching Council for England in 2007, in 2009 she obtained a certificate from Learning Curve Awards in understanding children with emotional and behavioural disorders and in 2010 she received a Masters in Leadership and Management from the Open University.
Peace loves to teach and is also the Staff Forum Representative for St Piers School, a NASUWT treasurer for her local branch, a local preacher for the Methodist Conference and a Vice National Steward for the Zimbabwe Methodist Fellowship in UK. She has 5 children and 11 grandchildren.
