ICT and media

Students enjoy learning new technological skills using a range of ICT equipment from iPads, laptops and desktop computers.

They use applications such as email, internet, Word processing and the student intranet to communicate with friends and family.

Using a range of media software applications, students can learn to use video cameras, digital cameras and iPods and undertake media projects, making mini films, animation films and photography projects.

The practical skills help students to use technology for their personal use and for developing vocational and work skills. Students have access to a bespoke media suite on site and have visited local radio stations, the BBC, Oska Bright Film Festival, and an Imax cinema.

Some have undertaken courses in IT and Media at local mainstream colleges and have had work experience placements within our internal IT department and a local cinema.
