St Piers has not been identified in the official list as published by the Department for Education and there is no evidence to suggest the presence of RAAC on campus. We are committed to the health and safety of all students and staff and will continue to investigate as further information on this issue is released from government.
We are pleased to announce the official opening of the Griffith Therapy and Life Skills Centre for students with autism. The centre will help students living with extreme complex needs to maximise their potential.
Young Epilepsy has teamed up with The Wheelyboat Trust to host a ‘Swim the Lake’ challenge at the local Weir Wood Reservoir in Forest Row, near East Grinstead.
St Piers Farm is a much loved part of Young Epilepsy, supporting students as one of a range of different types of sensory activities we provide on campus. Our students enjoy getting to learn new skills such as, animal care, welfare and nutrition.
Erasmus+ is the EU programme for education, training, youth and sport for the period 2014-2020. Education, training, youth and sport can make a major contribution to help tackle socio-economic changes, the key challenges that Europe will be facing until the end of the decade and to support the implementation of the Europe 2020 strategy for growth, jobs, social equity and inclusion. Many of the initiatives are based on opportunities to help teachers, lecturers and non-academic staff develop their skills in schools, universities and colleges around Europe – through job shadowing, teaching and training activities.
Claire Lawrence’s class had an exciting trip to The Hawth Theatre on Tuesday 4 March 2014 as part of their Community Education course.
Students and staff at St Piers School got into the Children in Need spirit and donned superhero outfits in aid of the special day. There were a huge amount of cakes made for the day which were sold to raise money.
On Tuesday 21st January 2014 I put on my smart outfit ready for the special job I had been asked to do. It was a very special occasion. June (Head of School) had asked me to represent St Piers School by presenting a gift to The Duke of Kent!
The Media Group at St Piers College created a music video for Simon Wells and his song Snow On Your Face.
We are celebrating our second outstanding Ofsted grade in 12 months. It was awarded following an inspection of the Residential Special Schools service.
