St Piers has not been identified in the official list as published by the Department for Education and there is no evidence to suggest the presence of RAAC on campus. We are committed to the health and safety of all students and staff and will continue to investigate as further information on this issue is released from government.
The Howe Outdoor Gym and Games Area, was officially opened by Lady Howe in September, in honour of Lord Howe who was the Life President of Young Epilepsy, and dedicated over 40 years to the charity.
St Piers School has recently been awarded the School Games Mark at bronze level. This national mark recognises schools for their commitment, engagement and delivery of competitive school sport.
St Piers School has recently been awarded the British Council’s prestigious International School Award 2016-2019 in recognition of its work to bring the world into the classroom.
East Grinstead’s Abbie Hunnisett is the UK and European parasport F32 Club Throwing Champion. She has had a fantastic year and recently won bronze in Doha at the IPC Athletics World Championships.
This year’s College leaver’s ceremony as always was an extremely well attended event. Nicholson Hall was filled with proud parents, excited students and staff. Everyone was filled with emotion, happy to see their students flourish and ready to move on, whilst sad to see them leave.
A group of St Piers College students who recently completed their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award went snorkelling with sharks at London Aquarium on the 4 and 17 July.
From speaking with parents, we understand that we must improve our communication with parents when a day students changes medication.
St Piers school has just recently been awarded the Youth Sport Trust Quality Mark at Gold level. This is a nationally recognised kite mark for PE and school sport which is aligned to Ofsted guidance.
The Young Epilepsy teams successfully completed their 3 lakes Challenge, and in the process raised £3500 (So far) towards the purchase of a Wheelyboat. This is a wheelchair accessible boat, which will allow our wheelchair-bound students to access our watersports programme.
Day five of the Big Build started with our Chief Executive, Carol Long attending the morning briefing with Santander Consumer Finance and Splash Projects.
